Camellia sinensis var. sinensis cv. Tieguanyin is a world-renowned Oolong tea cultivar and Originated from Xiping Town, Anxi County, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, which was selected during the reign of Yongzheng Emperor in the Qing Dynasty (1,723–1,735 A.D.).Tieguanyin belongs to the semi-fermented tea category. It has a unique "Guanyinyu", a delicate fragrance and elegant charm. After brewing, it has a natural orchid fragrance, a pure taste, a long-lasting aroma, and the reputation of "seven brewings with aroma".

Tieguanyin contains high levels of amino acids, vitamins, minerals, tea polyphenols and alkaloids.As result it has a variety of nutrients and medicinal ingredients, and has the function of health preservation.It has the health care function of general tea, and also has anti-aging, anti-cancer, anti-arteriosclerosis, prevention and treatment of diabetes, weight loss, prevention of dental caries, etc.

Tieguanyin plants are shrub-shaped, with spreading tree vigor, branches growing obliquely, and leaves horizontally growing. The leaf shape is elliptical, with sparse and blunt leaf margins, the leaf surface is wavy uplifted, with obvious ribs, slightly reversing to the back, the leaf flesh is thick, the leaf color is dark green and shiny, the leaf base is slightly obtuse, and the leaf tip is tilted to the left, and The tender buds are purple-red, so it is called "red bud crooked peach", which is one of the characteristics of the variety.
