Common name : Yunkang 10
Scientific name : Camellia sinensis var. assamica cv. Yunkang 10
Chinese name : 云抗10
Taxonomy : Angiosperms / Eudicots / Ericales / Theaceae
Yunkang 10 is one of tea clone varieties. In 1987, it was recognized as a national fine variety by China tea variety examination and Approval Committee, and its number was "Huacha 50 (gsct50)". It was bred from Fengqing large leaf variety of Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences Tea Research Institute.
Tea plant arbor type, large leaf, early-growing species. The tree is erect with dense branches. The leaves are oval in shape, yellow green in color, and coarse serrated. The buds and leaves are plump and hairy, and the tender leaves are yellow and green. The cold resistance of Yunda group was stronger than that of Yunda group. The yield per unit area is high. It is suitable for black tea, Pu'er tea and Yunnan green tea. It is suitable to be popularized in large leaf area.
Based on sequence data from whole-genome shotgun sequencing. Together with comparative transcriptomic and phytochemical analyses for the representative Camellia species, we aim to obtain new insights into the molecular basis of the biosynthesis of the three characteristic secondary metabolites with an emphasis on the suitability of tea-processing and the formation of tea flavor.
